Hobbs And Shaw

Let’s start off by saying that I really, really dislike the title for this movie, it is just not catchy at all. It sounds like a boring movie of two detectives, but the good thing about this is the fact that it’s just the name that is terrible. Director David Leitch has proved himself to be very skillful at putting a magic touch on stars apart of the action genre. Check out what he did for Keanu Reeves, and Charlize Theron and a couple of other big names. So it was only right they let him get his hands on “Hobbs and shaw” a spinoff from one of the best movie franchises ever, “Fast & Furious”.

With the writers being Drew Pearce and Chris Morgan, they know what the fans from “Fast and Furious” loves about these two. So Leitch takes the script, does what he does best and gives the fans what they want. The movie opens up with some amazing, fight scenes from the two, wasting no time at all proving the magic touch he can sprinkle on these two characters. Some would say the way Hobbs can use a needle, actually, a tattoo needle at that to beat a man up is oversimplified. The thing about it is the fact that its what you expect from these guys so it turns out more fun than annoying, or what about Shaw with the champagne bottle, intense action scenes at its best.

We expect that from “Hobbs and Shaw” though. Most of the films from the franchise seemed a bit stale, just a bit, they are all great movies. Leitch always finds a way to keep the movie’s plot and characters fresh. brilliant way of thinking. The movie introduced two new characters to the audience Brixton played by Edris Elba and Vanessa Kirby who plays Hattie Shaw, Deckard Shaw’s sister. they both do an amazing job in the movie, Safe to say the viewers of the movie wouldn’t expect anything else from these two though. Brixton is on a mission to get this virus, which in a matter of days can wipe out the entire world. That plan gets interrupted by Hattie Shaw, known as an M16 agent, she gets to it first. Hobb and Shaw are now two guys on a mission.

you have no choice but to love what this movie enhances all of the fights and scenes with chasing, the way these two insults each other is hilarious. “Shobbs and Shaw” has that action flow to it and it keeps its fuel with well-selected actors that plays a role in it. Leitch new he had to be something that grabs the attention from the two guys for a little bit, so the movie wouldn’t get dull. So that’s where Kirby and Elba come in to play at. As far as charisma goes Elba is right up there with the other two guys And Kirby definitely took the spotlight from the men. This is definitely one of those movies that keep you interested while eating your snack. One of the most entertaining films to come out this season is “Hobbs and Shaw”.

The Lion King

It may take a while for viewers to appreciate this remake, instead of judging it from the original. The remake of this movie was in many controversial discussions way before its release date. Because it went in line with a list of other movies that used Walt Disney’s new strategy by remaking all of our childhood favorites. This movie gives the viewers just about the same story as its original. It does give the audience photo realistic animals which were a big difference as we get the majority of the same songs. Some compared the movie to a nature documentary.

The movie was directed by a veteran at Disney by the name of Jon Favreau, who may have directed his best movie yet, judging on how he was able to make magic with the putting together and cutting the sequences and scenes. Caleb Deschanel is the cinematographer for the movie, who goes on the list as one of the best to shoot live-action animal movies.”Swingers” and the movie “Made were some of the movies that started Favreau’s filming career off. This movie might have been his most put movie yet, the very thought of taking one of Disney’s most successful animated movies and adding a little touch with the latest computer imagery, while still having the audience remember the original by throwing in some of the same music and story.

The visual of the lion king original that we remember growing up was about 88 minutes, had a painting in motion feel, kind of like a real-life children’s storybook. This new touched up movie makes these jungle characters look so amazing, from the colors on the animals, the detailed fur on the lions and even bone structures. Even with every familiar song that we know and every famous line we remember from the original this film making crew put in the extra incredible work to really convince the audience that these lions really exist if you watch closely you can see the fur shed on the grounds of the jungle. Favreau and teammate Deschanel use their amazing camera skills and follow behind our favorite lion friends as they walk through the hills and grasslands of the jungle and fight and run through the water, puddles, and rain. Its as if you were watching the discovery channel and lions let the camera guys hang out in the jungle with them instead of having them for supper.

This movie earned a milestone in the technical world,of course, we have seen animals look real in movies before “Jungle Book” and “Planet of the Apes” to name a few, the way Favreau added an extra touch to this movie is incredible. He made these animals look so much like the real thing, And you have to mention credibility where its due for the film making. Another thing that was pretty cool about the visuals was the part where they flew over Africa. It felt like you were in a plane flying right there at that scene. When a remake is as good as this one you don’t really have thoughts on comparing Matthew Broderick’s Simba version to the Simba played by Glover, But I did notice Beyonce’s extra touch when it comes to the singing from Nala. Just saying. This version of the lion king definitely stands on it’s on paws.

The Intruder

The intruder can be thrown in line in the home invasion thriller movie lists like “Breaking in” or “Specific heights”. Scott Russell played by (Michael Ely), is a marketing hotshot in San Francisco and who is madly in love with his wife Annie played by (Meagan Good). Just to please his adorable wife he is willing to buy a house worth $3 Million dollars in Napa Valley, which he does not really like, but hey, happy wife happy life. Annie’s dream house is being sold by Charlie Peck who is the widowed homeowner, seconds before his little meet with the Russells he is shown shooting a deer damn near ripping it to pieces with his rifle right in front of Scott and Annie. Not only was the deer shot, he then walks up to its hurt condition and finishes off the job.

So let’s take a minute to think, we obviously know that charlie is trouble already, in some movies it usually takes a while to figure out the bad guy because nothing seems quite right. But it’s clear that somethings definitely off where charlie is concerned, But Annie does not seem to care as she is so mind blown about wanted this house. We get that she is the bad and bougie, But if you are buying a house and a white dude with a rifles shoots a deer in your face as we’re talking about purchasing this thing, im sorry but we’re out, and looking on the next listing we see. Scott and Annie buy the house. Charlie mentions to the couple that the house is named after a flower named foxglove. which is a poisionus flower, that was a foreshadowing technique used by the director. But that type of work is not new for director David Loughery, as he used some of that magic in some of his previous work “Obessed” being one of them.

Which was a good movie and fun to watch. The fun level in Intruder is somewhat around the same. While watching the movie u want to scream at Annie for acting a clueless about Charlie, while Scott, on the other hand, is a bit wary about him and you can defenitley tell. Charlie is really devoted to staying around his old home Foxglove which he sold to the Russells. He couldnt leave it if he tried to, well is he even trying to. He shows up to help the new homeowners with their lawn and to of course spy on them. Whenever Scott mentions to Charlie about alternating the home a bit, Charlie goes crazy.

Even with all of this Annie invites that guy to dinner, does she think? anyways during the dinner Charlie gets insulted by one of Scott’s friends Mike played by Joseph Sikora. As the movie continues Charlie becomes more deranged showing up to the house more unannounced while Annie is home. Annie mentions it to Scott, and he insists that she stops letting the man in her house. I mean sheesh, listen to your husband. The movie did not really have too many unpredictable moments. Meagan and Michael had a wierd type of chemistry in this movie though, despite their intense sex scene. The scences where they were yelling at each other seems a bit more convincing. all though Annie has some ditsy moments in the movie When she and Scott finally come together to save themselves, your rooting for her.
