Thank You For Your Service


The movie Thank You For Your Service is a 2017 war drama film. The movies was directed and written by Jason Hall. Jon Kilik was the man behind the production for this movie. The cast for this film was Miles Teller who played Adam Shumann ,a staff seargent, Haley Bennett as Saskia Shumann, Adams wife, Joe Cole who played Billy Waller, Amy Schumer as Amanda Doster, Beulah Koale who plays Tausolo and Scott Haze who plays Micahel Adam Emory. The movie didn’t do so well in the box office as i brought in $9.5 million from the $20 million invested. The filming for this movie took places around areas of Atlanta. This movie was not to bad, when you get a chance check it out.

after a 15 month combat experience while in Iraq Adam Shumann played by Miles Teller returns to his wife Saskia in Kansas. They have two young children together a daughter and a son that was born while Adam was overseas at war. Saskia asks Adam to seek help from the Department Of Veteran Affairs because he is suffering from PTSD which is a basically nightmares or flashbacks of what was happening while at war. He is also getting comfort from two Iraq friends that are living near by to him. Adams issues come from him not safely being able to rescue a soldier from a building that was on fire. Michael Emory played by Scott Haze was the soldier, who was dropped but still gives Adam a lot of thanks for still being able to be alive.

The humvee which Doster was filling in for Adam took a wrong turn and slammed right into an explosive device, Solo helped the guys get to safety but Doster ended up getting left behind and dies in conflagration. Amanda who is the grieving widow of Doster and Saskia’s best friend learns the circumstances of her husbands death and stops blaming Adam and Solo, she finally gets some closure. Solo however has a major issue with PTSD and is unable to to reenlist for another tour in Iraq. He then ends up with a group of drug dealers led by Dante played by Omar Dorsey. Adam however gets word of this and goes and saves his friend from making wrong decisions and gets him to a bus headed to California where Solo can find a special place at the rehabilitation center specializing to find treatment for the PTSD. The movie was ok. check it out if you get some time.
