Hustlers

The film sets things off with Ramona played by Jennifer Lopez prances on the stage of a huge strip club, all focus is on her, money starts getting thrown on her by men with obvious lust in their eyes. Lopez definitely makes it a pleasurable for the audience to view, she masters the performance of playing as the on-screen Ramona. Lopez has the ability to work the viewers, that’s something that we all know, but in this film, she turned it up a notch to prove and remind the viewers that she was a superb actress before the whole musically talented J.Lo venture. We must admit that after Jennifer’s amazing well-played role in the classic “Selena” movie, this has undeniably be her next best performance. Hustlers give viewers the true story about a gang of strippers who defraud and got millions out of clients strolling Wallstreet.

There are parts of the movie where it feels as if director and screenplay writer Lorene Scafaria sticks a bit too much on ancient filmmaking plans like to show high emotion of a point, she uses the zoom and slow-motion features. The ladies did live a plush lifestyle with the money from the schemes they ran on clients, from the expensive shopping sprees and to all the other stuff women with money get into. It might be just an opinion, but I do believe that Scafaria might have incorporated this just a little too much in the film. picture most of the guys in the movie Goodfellas wearing dresses. Interesting thought but That’s a way to pretty much some this movie up.

This movie has plenty of emotional deepness, which makes it a very entertaining film to watch. Scafaria put in some really creative work into this one. Cardi B had a very successful acting debut in this film, she plays a stripper named Diamond. Cardi B’s character assists Ramona in teaches this new girl a few pointers in the fact that dancing on laps and spinning on poles is delightful, and it’s at this very point in the movie that writer Scarfaria makes it clear that these women definitely have each other’s backs. The new girl that Diamond and Ramona helped out is named Destiney played by Constance woo. Destiney is a native from queens She belongs to parents who are immigrants, at first didn’t show too much interest in the stripping venture shes into but she does it to make a few bucks to support the woman who basically raised her “Wai Chang Ho”, her grandmother.

For a while the money is flowing pretty good, especially for Destiney and Ramona, then comes a recession, which sends some of the women on seperate missions and one of them having a baby girl. But the slow funds does not stop ramona, it actually enabled her to kick it up a notch, as her and Destiney grab Annabelle and Mercedes played by Lili Reinhart and Keke Palmer to see what crazy spree of schemes that these ladies can continue together.
